Gerard Minakawa started a cooperation with an indigenous Aymaran family on Bolivia's Lake Titicaca (12,000 feet above sealevel). In his new collection RING he is utilizing the familiy of third generation weavers that rely on the ancestral technique of Totora reed weaving. Gerard currently lives in Bolivia and is a part-time consultant to Aid-to-Artisans and has also been busy with inventing new projects and products with indigenous craftspeople.
